Minerva is local-first. Your library is a folder of plain files on your machine, and the assistant runs on a provider you pick with your own key, or fully offline.

  • Bring your own key

    Use Anthropic, OpenAI or OpenRouter with your own API key. Keys stay on your device and are used only to reach the model you picked.

  • Or keep it all local

    Run models offline with Ollama, or use Apple's on-device model on macOS 26 and later.

  • Agents you already use

    Connect Claude Code, Codex, opencode, Cursor Agent or OpenClaw, each signed in with its own account.

  • Plain files you own

    Each paper is a folder of plain files: details, annotations and notes. The search index is rebuilt from them, so nothing is locked in.

  • Lock the app

    Protect Minerva with a passcode, Touch ID, Face ID or Windows Hello.

  • Analytics only with consent

    Usage analytics are sent only if you say yes.
